TRAVEL TO ITALY- COVID UPDATE
The situation is continuously evolving, and Italian rules for travels within EU and for entries from non-EU countries in general follow EU rules- the same for vaccines. We suggest you to keep informed on the Italian official website (unfortunately, mostly in Italian) and in particular to check your situation with the questionnaire.
You can stay updated with Covid rules for travelling to and from Italy through the official website. Specific local restrictions may be introduced weekly. Up to now, the whole of Italy is “white”, i.e. at the lowest level of restrictions. You can follow the evolution through the official website. Specific up-to-date information about travels to SüdTirol are available in the webpage (in Italian and German or in English).

COVID-19 Green Pass
According to the new Italian decree-law of 23 July 2021, n. 105 “Urgent measures to face the epidemiological emergency from COVID-19 and for the safe exercise of social and economic activities” (GU Serie Generale n.175 of 23-07-2021), which provides that some activities are allowed only to those with a COVID-19 green certification, we inform you that to participate in the Summer School YESS11 you must be in possession of a COVID-19 Green Pass.
Those who do not have the COVID-19 Green Pass will not be able to participate in the Summer School.
Decree No. 52 of April 22, 2021 (converted into law with amendments, Law No. 87 of June 17, 2021) defines that COVID-19 Green Pass attest to one of the following conditions:
- a) successful vaccination against-SARS-CoV-2, at the end of the prescribed cycle;
- b) recovery from COVID-19, with simultaneous termination of the prescribed isolation following infection with SARS-CoV-2, arranged in accordance with the criteria established by the Ministry of Health;
- c) the negative results of a rapid antigenic or molecular test for SARS-CoV-2.
The COVID-19 Green Pass released on the basis of the condition of case a) shall be valid for nine months from the date of conclusion of the vaccination cycle. In the case of administration of the first dose of vaccine, the COVID-19 Green Pass shall be valid from the fifteenth day after administration until the scheduled date of completion of the vaccination cycle, which date shall be indicated on the certificate.
The COVID-19 Green Pass released on the basis of the condition of case b), is valid for six months from the date of recovery.
The COVID-19 Green Pass released on the basis of case condition c) is valid for 48 hours from the time of testing. Therefore, should you fall into this situation, you will have to perform a test before your departure and then also during your stay in Brixen/Bressanone (you will find the pharmacies belwo). If you choose to perform a rapid antigen test, this must be recognized by the health authority and carried out by health professionals or other persons deemed suitable by the Ministry of Health. “Do-it-yourself” tests are therefore not valid.
The check of the Green Pass COVID-19 and the withdrawal of the photocopy of the identity document will take place during the registration, which will take place on August 22 from 19.00 to 21.00 at the entrance of Vinzentinum (Bressanone – via Brennero 37). Please note that at the entrance of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano – Campus Brixen (Brixen – viale Ratisbona, 16) there is a device for measuring temperature and for sanitizing hands: please use it before entering the lecture hall. Every day at the entrance of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano the validity of the green COVID-19 certification will be checked.
If you need a Covid-test since you are not fully vaccinated with an EU-accepted vaccine, you need it before entering Italy, but you will be required to repeat it once in Brixen (these tests have a limited validity, now it is 48 hours). There are several opportunities in Brixen:

In the Vinzentinum, as in other hotels and accommodations and in the restaurants, local rules requires the use of a mask when social distancing cannot be ensured. Detailed rules can be found in the webpage IT or DE (only in Italian and in German, sorry).
Of course, masks can be bought in Brixen, but we suggest to bring with you your own “stock”.
